Melissa Richardson Banks of CauseConnect has organized and/or managed more than 100 museum exhibitions since 1993. For the Los Angeles Public Library, she changed how exhibitions were produced and presented in the Central Library’s Getty Gallery and First Floor Galleries — increasing library visitation and transforming what were formerly chance encounters by library patrons into purposeful visits by gallery visitors. There, she managed project teams for nearly 40 major shows over four years and provided necessary services for each exhibition such as fundraising, corporate sponsorship, marketing, community outreach, special events, public programs, volunteer recruitment, contract negotiation, and/or budget management. At the Autry Museum of Western Heritage, she helped establish the institution’s marketing department and launched a corporate sponsorship program to support over 50 exhibitions. With Cheech Marin, she has organized over 12 exhibitions drawn from his notable Chicano art collection and toured them to more than 50 museums across North America and Europe.
