Virtual Art Talks

CauseConnect produces and presents art talks — virtual and in person. Recent art talks were presented to the St. Anne’s Guild (November 11, 2020) and to the Newcomers and Neighbors of Greater Houston (February 24, 2021).

The talks were described as follows: Photographer and arts consultant Melissa Richardson Banks gave a virtual art talk featuring her images of her favorite Houston murals — at least, her favorites at this moment as the city’s colorful selection of street art is ever changing. A native Texan, Melissa moved to Houston to be closer to her family after 25 years in Los Angeles. She loves to explore and find those lesser-known hidden gems of our city. For this event, in addition to her online presentation and stories about the explosion of the street art scene across the U.S., Melissa provided a print-out map created just for attendees so they could visit her favorite murals in person on their own (attendees were also referred to an evolving list of citywide murals at www.houstonmuralmap.com).
