Noche de Arte y Musica at Plaza de la Raza

CauseConnect produced Noche de Arte y Musica at Plaza de la Raza on behalf of the Marin Salon Series. On Saturday October 5, 2013, invited VIP guests enjoyed an exclusive afternoon reception on the zocalo followed by a Chicano art talk by Cheech Marin and a performance by classical pianist Natasha Marin with cellist Maksim Velichkin in the Margo Albert Theatre. Guests were also treated to a guided tour of the art sale before it opened to the public in the Boathouse Gallery. Doors opened to the ticketed public afterwards with live painting of a mural by artist Fernando Barragan, tunes by Groove Radio, and performances by Quitapenas, Mariachi Mario Lopez, Thee Commons, Plaza de la Raza Salsa Band, Danza Teocalt, and Plaza de la Raza Youth Mariachi Ensemble. Artists featured in the art sale included Chaz Bojorquez, Retna, David Flury, Margaret Garcia, Patssi Valdez, Richard Duardo, Emilio, Joe Bravo, Summer, Hector Silva, Cryptic, Wisk, Galo, Johny Quintanilla, Poala Lopez, Yolanda Gonzales, Fernando Mercado, Jasper Santos, Ernie Angiano, Frank Romero, Leo Limon, Antonio Pelayo, Jose Alfaro, Alex, Fernando Barragan, Heriberto Luna, Raul Gamboa, Violeta Moreno, James Foster, Skylar Aud, Victor Cabrera, Baine, and Andre Miripolsky.
