Papel Chicano showcases the bold, intense imagery and vibrant color that have long defined Chicano art. Featuring approximately 40 works on paper—primarily pastels, along with drawings, mixed media, oil, acrylic, and gouache—this exhibition explores themes of identity, culture, and social commentary through the eyes of leading Chicano artists.
Drawn from the renowned private collection of actor, activist, and art advocate Cheech Marin, the exhibition includes works by:
Gaspar Enriquez, Margaret Garcia, Raul Guerrero, Roberto Gutierrez, Wayne Alaniz Healy, Adan Hernandez, Leo Limón, Jose Lozano, Jesus “Chuy c/s” Rangel, Cesar Martinez, Alex Rubio, Frank Romero, Eloy Torrez, John Valadez, Patssi Valdez, Vincent Valdez, and George Yepes.
The nationally touring exhibition was organized and managed by Melissa Richardson Banks of CauseConnect, who also produced and published a full-color exhibition catalog through La Mano Press. CauseConnect raised all necessary funding and handled every facet of the tour—including curatorial support, venue coordination, logistics, promotion, and public engagement.
