Melissa Richardson Banks of CauseConnect produces “Art of the Taste,” a series of collector events tied to art fairs in Los Angeles and Houston. On January 31, 2016, the 75 art collectors from Art Los Angeles Contemporary were invited to an event at Cheech Marin’s home to tour his renowned Chicano art collection and sample his artisanal spirit Tres Papalote Mezcal; the bottles of which were inspired by the glass art of the dynamic artist duo Einar & Jamex de la Torre. During October 2016, three events took place in conjunction with the Houston Art Fair: a mezcal-inspired book signing of “Papel Chicano Dos: Works on Paper from the Collection of Cheech Marin” took place in the VIP Lounge at Silver Street Studios followed by cocktails with young collectors at La Fisheria. The next day, an exclusive brunch was held at Triniti Restaurant.
