As one of Houston’s most revered performing arts organizations, Bach Society Houston brings the works of Johann Sebastian Bach to life through world-class performances and dynamic community engagement. Their Spring 2025 season is no exception—it’s a rich offering of sacred and secular masterworks that highlight both the legacy and the living resonance of Bach’s music.
The Season at a Glance: Bach, From Intimate to Grand
The Spring 2025 season begins with Complete Bach Cello Suites, Part 2 on February 14 at Archway Gallery, an ideal setting for a close, immersive musical experience.
The season’s centerpiece is the long-awaited performance by the Thomanerchor Leipzig—the historic St. Thomas Choir of Leipzig, where Bach himself served as music director. This rare U.S. tour appearance will take place on Sunday, March 16 at 3 PM in the prestigious Stude Concert Hall at Rice University. Tickets are expected to sell quickly for this landmark event.
Other highlights include:

• Erickson’s St. John Passion (April 18)
• Solo Cantatas with Renée Rybolt & Drew Santini (May 10)
• Music in the Americas, an exploration of Bach’s influence across continents (June 1)
Most performances are held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Bach Society’s longtime home, and many are ticketed on a suggested donation basis—an intentional move to make classical music more accessible.

Founded in 1982, Bach Society Houston is more than a performance organization—it’s a cultural institution with global recognition. As the first American professional choir invited to perform at BachFest in Leipzig, their influence is felt far beyond Houston.
